CERN Accelerating science

Lars Kolk

Since this was my first time going abroad for such a long time, I was a little nervous but also really excited. I mean, the thought of meeting so many people from all around the world and working on a really interesting scientific project at CERN really made me thrilled. When I finally arrived in July, all my expectations were exceeded. Thanks to several activities (trips to different cities, web fest, guided tours...) and my work at ATLAS I was able to meet so many interesting people (shoutout to Senad for introducing me to CATAN ). In addition, my project at ATLAS gave me a good insight of the daily work of a physicists and all the challenges there can be when analysing data. It also inspired me to learn more about coding on my own. This really was one of the most fun and exciting summers I ever had and I am really happy to be a part of the CERN summer student programme.
